Dallas Hinton, Thomasville Officer and Marine Corps Veteran, Dies After Early Morning Highway 43 Crash in Clarke County, AL
Dallas Hinton, a 25-year-old Thomasville officer, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, after an early morning crash on U.S. Highway 43 in Clarke County, Alabama.
Hinton was on duty and traveling north at about 4:45 a.m. when the patrol vehicle struck the rear of an 18-wheel tractor-trailer moving in the same direction.
Emergency crews and fellow officers responded quickly, but authorities pronounced Hinton deceased shortly after the collision.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said troopers from the Highway Patrol Division continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Thomasville Police Chief Mitchell Stuckey remembered Hinton as a strong and dependable member of the department whose service meant a great deal to colleagues and residents.
Before joining the department, Hinton served in the United States Marine Corps and carried that same discipline and dedication into community service.
Loved ones also remembered Hinton as someone building a bright future after recently getting engaged and purchasing a home.
The Thomasville community continues to mourn a young life of service, while the family will announce obituary and funeral service details at a later time.
