Sawyer Richardson, 29, of Sheldon, ND, Remembered After Deadly Richland County Rollover Crash Near Barney
Sawyer Richardson, a 29-year-old Sheldon, ND, resident, passed away after a rollover crash in Richland County late Sunday night, April 19, 2026.
Authorities said the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Richland County Road 3, about 2.5 miles north of Barney.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported that Richardson drove a 1974 Chevrolet pickup southbound before the vehicle left the road, entered a ditch, and overturned.
Officials said Richardson wore a seat belt, but the crash caused life-ending injuries at the scene.
Emergency crews, including the North Dakota State Patrol, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, and local fire and ambulance teams, responded to the area.
The North Dakota State Patrol continues to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
