Braden Canterberry and Braxton Canterberry, Beloved Marion County Community Members, Pass Away in Early Morning SUV Crash Near Jasper Hill

Braden Canterberry, 17, and Braxton Canterberry, 20, passed away early Wednesday morning after a single-vehicle SUV crash in Marion County, AL.

Authorities said deputies responded around 2:00 a.m. to County Road 36, an area also known locally as Jasper Hill.

Deputies later found a silver Toyota 4Runner involved in the crash nearby.

Officials said three people occupied the SUV, and Braden Canterberry and Braxton Canterberry passed away at the scene.

Braden was a senior at Brilliant High School, where the news brought deep sadness to classmates, educators, friends, and families.

An 18-year-old occupant received critical care after responders arranged transport to UAB Hospital.

Brilliant Schools shared sorrow with the community and offered support resources for students and staff as they grieve.

Chief Skylar Handley said the three young people were known in the community, making the loss deeply personal for local families and schools.

Friends and family later gathered at the crash site to honor Braden and Braxton while supporting one another through a painful moment.

Memorial and service details will be shared by family members at a later time.
