David McGuire, 39-Year-Old Maine Resident, Remembered After Fatal UTV Accident in Rupert, VT
David McGuire, a 39-year-old Maine resident, passed away on Saturday evening, April 18, 2026, after a UTV accident on Suncrest Road in Rupert, Vermont.
Emergency crews responded shortly before 8:30 p.m., where firefighters and rescue personnel worked to free David from the wreckage before officials pronounced David deceased at the scene.
Vermont State Police said the UTV left the roadway, struck several trees, and rolled down an embankment while seatbelts appeared to have been in use.
Three passengers also received medical care, including a 13-year-old and a 43-year-old who went to Albany Medical Center, and a 15-year-old who later left Rutland Regional Medical Center after treatment.
Authorities identified the driver as 33-year-old Ellsworth Reed of West Pawlet and said the investigation remains ongoing.
David’s passing has brought deep sadness to loved ones and the wider community, as family and friends remember a life ended far too soon.
