Michael Wolcott, 35, Dies Following High-Speed Motorcycle Collision with Commercial Truck in Riverside, Platte County
Michael Wolcott, a 35-year-old resident of Riverside, passed away on the morning of April 22 following a serious traffic collision in Platte County.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 9:00 a.m. on NW Mattox Road, just north of NW 43rd Street, involving a motorcycle and a commercial truck.
Investigators stated that Wolcott was traveling southbound on a 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle when an attempted pass coincided with a turning commercial vehicle.
The motorcycle struck the front of the truck during the maneuver, after which Wolcott continued off the roadway and collided with a utility pole.
Emergency responders transported Wolcott to a nearby hospital, where medical staff later confirmed the passing due to severe injuries.
Officials noted that road conditions and driving factors remain under review as part of an ongoing investigation led by the Platte County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team.
Community members have begun expressing sorrow, with messages reflecting deep sympathy and support for Wolcott’s family during this difficult time.
