The late Ubaldo Castro from Alief, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 15 after an unknown accident with his friends. The tragic news was received in the middle of the night, leaving his family and community devastated. Ubaldo was known for his cheerful and caring nature, always spreading love to those around him.
Ubaldo’s sister, Paula Castro, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the family during this difficult time. The fundraiser, titled "Support Ubaldo’s Family in Their Time of Sorrow," was created on May 16, 2024. As of now, $860 has been raised out of the $35,000 goal, with contributions from 11 donors. The most recent donation of $200 was made by Silvino Venancio, the top donation of $300 by Kenia Bautista, and the first donation of $40 by Morelia Damian.
Paula Castro shared the family’s plight on the GoFundMe page, expressing their overwhelming grief and the financial burden of Ubaldo’s funeral expenses. She described Ubaldo as a joyful and affectionate person who brought much love to everyone he met. The family is seeking support from the community, family, and friends to help cover the costs of his funeral and to honor his memory.
Angela Htx also shared the GoFundMe link on Facebook, urging people to help during this hard time. "Please help out in this hard time; anything would help. Loss of a loved one," she wrote, highlighting the community’s collective sorrow and need for support.
The family remains grateful for any contribution, no matter how small, to help them navigate this dark and painful period. "Thank you for taking the time out of your day to come and support his family. Anything given will be going to his funeral service, and may God bless you," Paula Castro added on the fundraiser page.
Ubaldo’s unexpected death and the subsequent community effort to support his family underline the importance of collective solidarity in times of personal tragedy.
