Timothy “Tim” Keith Eanes, aged 55, from Axton, Virginia, tragically passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Born on May 19, 1968, in Martinsville, Virginia, Tim was the beloved son of the late Willie Nutter Eanes. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Delores Bryson, and brother, Ernie Eanes.
Tim was the former owner of Eanes Heating and Cooling Company, known for his dedication to his work and customers. He loved spending time with his family, riding his Harley Davidson, flying, and taking care of his animals. His hobbies included fishing and working in his yard, reflecting his love for the outdoors.
Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Angela Jackson Eanes, his daughter, Jessica Lynn Jackson, and his son, Joshua Keith Eanes. He also leaves behind his brother, Lewis Eanes, and his two grandsons, Jackson Floyd Routh and Benjamin Jackson Smith.
On Monday, May 20, 2024, a memorial service was held at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Randy officiating. Family and friends gathered to pay their respects, with visitation held thirty minutes prior to the service.
Tim’s untimely death was due to drowning at Myrtle Beach on Thursday, May 16, 2024. According to his son, Joshua, heavy undercurrents from recent rains created dangerous swimming conditions. Tragically, there were no posted warnings about the water’s dangers that day. Tim’s wife witnessed the horrifying event, watching helplessly as Tim struggled in the water for approximately 15 minutes before a lifeguard could assist him.
The family is grieving deeply and has started a fundraiser to cover funeral expenses and support during this difficult time. Joshua Eanes, Tim’s son, organized the GoFundMe campaign, aiming to raise $5,000. As of now, $2,150 has been raised from 16 donations, with contributions from friends and community members like Mary Sigmon, who donated $100, and Brent Hughes, who made a generous donation of $600.
Expressions of sympathy and memories of Tim have been shared on social media. Wendy Maxey, a lifelong friend, expressed her shock and extended prayers for Angela and the family. Dempsey Cartee, who knew Tim for most of his life, also shared his sorrow. Betty Plunkett, Sherri McVay Durham, and Leon Gill offered their condolences and prayers for strength and comfort during this heartbreaking time.
Tim’s death has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, who remember him as an amazing father, husband, and friend. His legacy lives on through his children, his contributions to the community, and the cherished memories of those who knew and loved him.
