The late Katrina Dean from Medical Lake, WA, passed away suddenly on May 19, 2024, at the age of 53. The news of her passing has left her family, friends, and the bull terrier community in shock and dismay. Katrina, a beloved member of the English Bull Terrier community, was known for her generous soul and dedication to helping others, especially in animal rescue efforts.
Michele Bottiglieri, a close friend of Katrina, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist with the unexpected funeral and memorial expenses. Michele described Katrina as a person with a caring spirit and a great sense of humor, someone who drew people to her and helped many through her involvement in rescue organizations. Michele shared her grief, saying, "Anyone who was blessed to know her will certainly miss her and will always remember her. The world is a bit of a darker place without her beautiful soul."
The GoFundMe campaign, titled "Remembering Katrina; help with covering memorial expenses," has raised $315 of its $8,000 goal through five donations. Contributors include Tina Chicola ($25), Courtney O’Neill ($10), Michele Bottiglieri ($50), Neiley Hunt ($200), and Kathie Meier ($30). Michele has urged the community to donate, emphasizing that any amount will greatly help Katrina’s parents during this difficult time.
On Facebook, Michele Bottiglieri expressed her shock and sorrow: "In the sudden passing of our beloved Katrina, we are left in shock and dismay. Children are never supposed to pass before their parents. Any amount of money donated will be a big help to Katrina’s parents." Other community members, such as Kathie Meier and Neiley Hunt, have also expressed their gratitude and disbelief at the loss.
Katrina’s impact on her community and the bull terrier world will be remembered fondly. The fundraiser reflects the collective effort to support her family and honor her memory, showing the importance of coming together in times of sorrow.
