The late Emilio Cabanillas from Ontario, California, sadly lost his battle with cancer. The Cabanillas family is now raising funds to lay him to rest in Nayarit, Mexico, his final resting place. Emilio’s son, Juan Cabanillas, has organized a fundraiser to gather the necessary funds for his father’s burial.
As of now, the fundraiser, created yesterday, has raised $175 of its $15,000 target, with donations from individuals like Wences Rodriguez, who donated $25, Alyssa Sanchez, who contributed $50, and Sahara Cabanillas, who gave $100. The family appreciates any support from the community during this difficult time.
Elizabeth Caba shared the fundraiser on Facebook, urging others to contribute and support the Cabanillas family. She posted, "Por parte de la familia Cabanillas estamos recaudando fondo para poder llevar a mi padre a descansar a su país. Lamentablemente perdió su batalla contra el cancer. Se lo agradeceríamos de corazón por su apoyo."
This fundraising effort highlights the community’s collective effort to support the Cabanillas family in honoring Emilio’s final wishes and dealing with the emotional and financial burdens of his passing.
