Dallas Townsend from Oceanside, California, tragically passed away on May 11 due to a major heart attack caused by a blood clot in his lungs. Despite the doctors’ efforts to resuscitate him, Dallas went too long without oxygen, resulting in an irreversible and detrimental condition. He leaves behind his daughter, Jocelynn.
Serena Jones, who is organizing a fundraiser on GoFundMe, shared the devastating news and the financial challenges the family is facing to cover the funeral costs. As of now, $225 has been raised out of the $20,000 goal, with contributions from two anonymous donors.
"Dallas was way too young and was taken so unexpectedly," Serena Jones wrote. "Planning a funeral is very expensive. As a family, we battled with the best way to do this, so we all agreed to base our decision on how much we can raise. A cremation with a viewing and ceremony costs roughly $10,000. His daughter really would prefer a burial, so we have said we will see what we can do. The cost for a burial, we have received an extremely discounted quote for everything, is around $20,000. Whatever you can donate, the family will greatly appreciate, and if there are any funds left over, everything will be given to his daughter."
The outpouring of support and continuous visits from friends and family at his hospital bed indicate that Dallas was deeply loved by many. Monique Crisp shared her thoughts on Facebook, expressing the sentiments of many who knew Dallas: "My Phamily."
The community is encouraged to support the fundraiser to help ease the financial burden on Dallas’s family and ensure his daughter Jocelynn can honor her father’s memory as she wishes.
