The late Benjamin Patrick Barragan, who passed away on June 13th, was in California attempting to get sober. Tragically, he died at the treatment center, and his family was not notified until June 21st. This delay added to the family’s distress as they struggled to bring him home and arrange his funeral.
A fundraiser has been organized by Alyssa Azure to help cover the costs of bringing Benjamin home and giving him the memorial he deserves. The goal is to raise $5,000, but so far, only $150 has been raised through two donations. Magdalena de la Paz donated $50, and Renae Lauinger contributed $100.
Benjamin’s mother, Anita, is particularly in need of support, as she is also responsible for his five children: Rosalina, Zaleigha, Alejandro, Ernesto, and Cecilia. The costs of transporting Benjamin’s body back home to North Dakota and arranging the funeral service are significant, ranging from $3,500 to $5,000.
Treasa Santos posted on Facebook, urging others to contribute: "Please help get Benjamin Patrick Barragan home. Remember, anything helps at this time. Thank you all for who can donate. Please share." This plea reflects the urgency and emotional weight of the situation.
The family hopes to honor Benjamin’s memory properly and say their last goodbyes, but they cannot do it without community support. Every donation, no matter the size, is crucial in helping them achieve this goal during such a heartbreaking time.
