Authorities in Prior Lake, Minnesota, identified 35-year-old William Smith and 34-year-old Laura Smith after officers found them deceased inside a home near Spruce Trail and Spruce Circle.
Prior Lake Police Department officers arrived around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for a welfare check after concerns arose about the occupants.
Officers entered the residence after determining entry was necessary, and they found William Smith and Laura Smith in a bedroom.
Officials delayed public identification so family notification could take place with proper care and respect.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting local officers as the active review continues, and authorities said they are not seeking anyone in connection with the case.
