Joseph Tadens, 4, Remembered After Deadly Pedestrian Incident In Kansas City’s Historic Northeast Neighborhood
Joseph Tadens, a 4-year-old child, died Monday evening after being struck by an Amazon delivery vehicle in Kansas City, Missouri.
Kansas City officers responded just before 6:30 p.m. to East Missouri Avenue and Lexington Avenue after receiving reports that a child had been struck.
Investigators said the marked delivery vehicle had completed a nearby package delivery and was traveling west on East 3rd Terrace toward Woodland Avenue when the incident occurred.
Authorities said Joseph had been playing in a grassy area of a nearby public park before entering the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, and officials pronounced Joseph dead at the scene.
The Kansas City community mourns this heartbreaking loss as detectives continue working to identify the delivery driver and determine the full circumstances.
