Michael Mills of Newburg Remembered After Fatal Workplace Incident at JLG Industries Facility in Fulton County
Michael Mills, 49, of Newburg, died after a workplace incident on Friday, May 22, 2026, at a JLG Industries property along Success Drive in Ayr Township near McConnellsburg.
Fulton County Coroner Berley Souders said emergency crews responded to the Fulton County Business Park site, where Mills was pronounced deceased at 10:40 a.m.
Authorities said Mills worked at the facility through a third-party maintenance contractor, and another worker received hospital care for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Fire and rescue teams, including McConnellsburg Fire Company, Fannett Metal Fire Company, and confined space rescue crews, supported an extended response at the scene.
JLG Industries expressed sympathy for those affected and said it continues to cooperate with OSHA and local, state, and federal investigators.
An autopsy was scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, as officials continued reviewing the circumstances.
Memorial and funeral service details will be announced later by the family.
