With deep sorrow, the family and community of Makyan Mickey announce their passing on April 24, 2026, at the age of 22 in Orange, Texas.
Makyan was predeceased by parents Raunada Mickey and Melvin Gilbert, and grandmother Patricia Mickey, and is survived by their children Kamyire Mickey and Ja'Mariyon Coleman, siblings Markayla Mickey, Key'aira Overstreet, Keysean King, Airreon Garrett, Kingston Gilbert, and Melvin Gilbert III, grandparents Ernest, Joyce Mickey, and Sharon, as well as great-grandparent Bessie Richard, alongside numerous other relatives and friends.
A beloved presence in the community, Makyan will be remembered for their warmth, dedication to family, and lasting impact on those around them.
Family and friends are invited to pay respects during visitation on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM.
