The late Siulia Anasteshia Laloulu, affectionately known as Judy, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Maui Memorial Hospital. Her family and community are grieving this profound loss and are currently raising funds for her funeral expenses.
Siulia’s siblings, Elika (Angelica), Aisalynn (Faresa), and Alii (ʻAleʻa) Laloulu, have organized a GoFundMe campaign to support their father, Sau Laloulu, with the necessary arrangements. So far, the campaign has raised $650 of its $10,000 goal, with contributions from generous donors such as Samoa Leilua ($200), Austin Kan Hai ($50), Kaylee Kaluau ($100), Hali Pacheco ($100), and an anonymous donor ($50).
On Facebook, friends and family shared their condolences and memories of Siulia. Alii Laloulu expressed, "As much as I try to hold it in, it still hurts to know that you ain’t here no more. I love you and miss you a lot, sis. Thank you everyone for the love and support; it truly means a lot." Vale Hamala commented, "Sorry for your loss, uce. RIP sis," while Chuck Phifer added, "Praying for you and your family, Uce!!" Sione Tulahe offered, "Prayers and condolences to the fam, bro. Ofa atu moe lotu alofa aku sole!" Samm N Ui Teo said, "R.I.L CUH. MY HEART AND FATU FAM," and Ho’oleia Ka’eo sent "Sending aloha to you and your ohana."
The family has expressed their gratitude for the prayers and support they have received as they navigate through this difficult time. In the words of Alea Johnson, the fundraiser’s organizer, "We continue to pray to our Heavenly Father for comfort and to heal us from this great loss to our family, but we know she is welcomed at the gates of Heaven by our family. We know that she is no longer in pain."
This outpouring of support demonstrates the close-knit nature of Siulia’s community and the impact she had on those around her. The fundraiser will help ensure she is laid to rest with the dignity and love she deserves, honoring her memory and the bond she shared with her family and friends.
