The late Jamie Roe from Stubbington, England, tragically took his life due to mental health struggles exacerbated by PTSD and brain damage from the AZ vaccine for Covid. His family, already reeling from the loss of their father to cancer less than two years ago, is now mourning Jamie’s untimely death.
Jamie Roe’s sister, Jayde Roe, is organizing a fundraiser to honor his memory and fulfill his wish for a proper burial. The fundraiser, created on May 25th, 2024, aims to raise £2,000 to support his funeral and erect a meaningful headstone. As of now, they have raised £330 from six donations, with contributions from friends and family such as Charlotte Fisher, who donated £100, and Ryan Leary, who contributed £75.
The community has shown overwhelming support. Jayde invited everyone to celebrate Jamie’s life on Thursday, May 30th, at Holy Rood Church in Stubbington. The service will be followed by a burial at Crofton Cemetery and a gathering at Skylark Country Club. Many have expressed their intention to attend and support the family. Denise Chivers assured, "We will be there, hun," while Olivia Graham confirmed, "I will be there for the church service and the cemetery, Jayde."
Natalie Haslett expressed her pride in Jayde’s strength, and Steve North offered big hugs, showing the community’s solidarity. Charlotte Fisher shared her sorrow, stating, "I’m utterly sad, the memories of Jamie will stay with me forever." The fundraiser and the planned gatherings are a testament to the community’s desire to support Jamie’s family during this difficult time.
Jamie Roe’s passing highlights the profound impact of mental health issues and the importance of community support in times of grief. His family’s efforts to honor his memory through the fundraiser and the upcoming services reflect their love and commitment to fulfilling his final wishes.
