The late Sean Heavey, affectionately known as "Bones," was from Exmouth. His passing has deeply affected his community and friends, who are now rallying together to give him a proper send-off. Lisa George has organized a GoFundMe campaign to raise £3,000 for his funeral. So far, £140 has been raised from four donations.
Lisa George shared her appeal on Facebook, saying, "Please can you help us by donating to (BONES) Sean Heavey funeral so that we can give him the very best send off we can.. please just give anything you can. Thanks in advance xxx."
Christopher Whiddon and Kathryn Greenstreet also expressed their sorrow and willingness to help. Kathryn, who misses her friend dearly, mentioned, "I will make a donation to Bones funeral fund at Betfred if that is ok I do miss him he was such a great friend to me x."
Kathryn further shared her memories of Sean, stating, "Bones supported me going places we used to for walks as I can’t go places on my own as I suffer with anxiety and I have autism. He used to make me laugh so much I liked listening to his stories of what he used to get up to x." Lisa George replied, appreciating Kathryn’s beautiful memories of Sean, saying, "He was a beautiful soul and so kind.. he certainly had a lot of stories to tell lol.. when he came in the bookies he’d be full of it bless him xxxx."
Kathryn also inquired about the funeral arrangements and wake, to which Lisa assured, "Yes of course I will and yes there will be a wake after x."
The fundraiser, created just yesterday, highlights the community’s effort to honor Sean’s memory. Lisa George emphasized the importance of the campaign, stating, "He went through life with a smile on his face every day, he had the biggest heart and was so generous (he’d give you his last penny) now it’s our turn to help him to have the best send off and have everyone there to celebrate his life.. May he R.I.P. please help us to help him."
Donations have started to come in from friends and family, with contributions from Kevin Mann, Colin Chard, Liane Keenan, and Alicia George. The community’s support reflects the love and respect they have for Sean, hoping to give him the farewell he deserves.
