The late Samuel T. Bluster, affectionately known as "Coach," passed away on May 10, 2024, in Sylacauga, Alabama. His death, believed to be caused by a massive heart attack in his sleep, has left his family and community in mourning. Due to the suddenness of his passing, no plans were in place for this life-changing event, prompting his family to seek help through a fundraiser.
Kee Welch, Samuel’s daughter, organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Contribute to Samuel T. Bluster’s Final Resting Place." She aims to raise $8,000 to cover the burial expenses, hoping to lay him to rest next to their mother, who passed away in 2018. The actual cost exceeds $10,000, making any contribution a significant blessing for the family. As of now, the fundraiser has garnered $925 from eight donations.
Kee Welch shared heartfelt words on the fundraiser page, expressing the family’s need and gratitude: "Hey guys, as most of you know my dad, Samuel T. Bluster ‘Coach’ passed away 5/10/24 from what appears to have been a massive heart attack in his sleep… because of this sudden death, plans were not in place for such a life-changing event… my family is reaching out for help… I know people all over this country loved my dad…so many of u are hurting and wanna know how u can help at this time. Will u please consider helping my family bury him with honor."
Donors have begun to respond, with contributions from individuals such as Michaela Bird, who donated $20, and Rebecca Allen, who gave $50. Lindsey Smith contributed $100, and two anonymous donors gave $500 and $5, respectively. These donations reflect the deep affection and respect that Samuel inspired in those who knew him.
The community continues to rally around the Bluster family in this time of need, with plans for the service to be announced on Kee Welch’s social media and the Community Funeral Home’s homepage. The fundraiser serves not only as a means to cover the burial costs but also as a testament to the lasting impact Samuel T. Bluster had on his community and loved ones.
