The late Robert Garcia Jr. was from San Jose, California. Known as the "be there guy," he was always ready to help anyone in need. Despite severe health issues, including working for ten years with no cartilage in his knees, Robert gave his best effort every day. Tragically, in January 2024, he developed a stomach problem that led to severe malnutrition, and he passed away in a nursing home in San Jose.
His son, Richard Garcia, is organizing a fundraiser to help cover the costs of his father’s memorial cremation and services. Richard shared that he was working 100 hours of overtime each month to support his father and hoped to eventually provide housing for him. Unfortunately, he could not achieve this goal before his father’s passing.
Richard describes his father as a man who wore many hats and knew everything about anything. He emphasizes that Robert would not want to be a burden and urges people to donate only if they can afford to, without hurting themselves financially. The fundraiser aims to honor Robert’s legacy of being supportive and enjoying life.
The community has been encouraged to donate, with the goal set at $1,600. Despite the challenges, Richard’s efforts reflect a son’s dedication to giving his father a respectful and loving farewell.
