Amber Herrin’s mother has been battling severe health issues for an extended period. Recently, Amber organized a fundraiser titled "Helping Mama in Her Fight for Life" to cover her mother’s medical expenses, as she doesn’t have insurance. As of today, $185 has been raised out of the $7,000 goal from three donations.
Amber has been sharing updates about her mother’s condition, explaining that she has been suffering from sepsis and critically high blood sugar levels. Despite multiple hospital visits and treatments, her condition worsened. Initially suspected of having a collapsed lung, it was later discovered that her spleen had ruptured. Due to her frail state, surgery was delayed until it became unavoidable.
The surgery, deemed high-risk, left the family anxious as the doctor warned she might not survive. Post-surgery, she was placed on a ventilator for two weeks. During this time, her kidneys failed, and she continued to lose blood. Despite some recovery signs, such as being taken off the vent and responding non-verbally, her health rapidly declined again.
On Mother’s Day, Amber received a distressing call from the hospital indicating her mother’s deteriorating condition, necessitating a return to the ventilator. After fluctuating between brief improvements and severe setbacks, the doctors decided to remove the ventilator, predicting she might not survive due to her weakened lungs.
Amber’s recent update mentioned that her mother was taken off the ventilator today and is in the process of passing away. The emotional and physical toll on Amber is immense, and she has expressed her desperation and exhaustion in trying to manage this crisis. She has called for prayers and financial support to help cover the impending funeral expenses and any outstanding medical bills, emphasizing the family’s urgent need for assistance during this tragic time.
