The late Lana Kamaly was from Port Orange, Florida. The community and her family are mourning her sudden death at Sugar Mills Elementary School. Lana was only ten years old, but she left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Her father, Abraham Kamaly, is fundraising for a memorial scholarship in her honor, aiming to raise $50,000. As of now, $1,155 has been raised through four donations.
Lana’s family described her as a joyful and kind-hearted girl. She was known for always having a smile on her face and complimenting everyone she met. Lana was very close to her father, who raised her, and they were inseparable. She also shared a strong bond with her grandparents, who adored her deeply.
Lana’s favorite activities included reading books and writing short stories. She often visited Barnes & Noble to buy new books and had recently started memorizing the names of muscles and joints from an anatomy atlas, expressing her dream of becoming a medical doctor to help others.
Her family has created a GoFundMe campaign to establish a scholarship fund in her memory. "We, the Kamaly family, are setting up a memorial and scholarship fund to remember our beloved daughter and granddaughter, Lana Kamaly," Abraham Kamaly wrote. "Your willingness to honor Lana’s memory and continue her legacy is greatly appreciated."
Lana’s passing has deeply affected her community and loved ones. Stephanie Bowen, a friend, shared on Facebook, "Your memory will live on forever sweet girl. You are free, twirl & dance in heaven & look after us princess."
Lana was an angel who brought joy and comfort to those around her. Her presence made people feel the warmth of heaven, and now she has gone to a place where there is no more sorrow, only joy. She will be greatly missed, but her family finds comfort in the belief that they will be reunited with her one day.
