Kinsley Rose Hardy, a 6-year-old girl from Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away tragically on Friday morning, May 31st. Her parents, Samantha Byrd and Billy Hardy, are now faced with the devastating loss of their beloved daughter.
Kinsley first fell ill on May 28th, experiencing high fevers and vomiting. She was taken to United Regional, where her symptoms were initially dismissed as a urinary tract infection (UTI), and she was sent home. However, her condition worsened, and she was taken back to the hospital on Thursday. There, Kinsley suffered two severe seizures, went septic, and exhibited abnormal liver and kidney functions due to an infection that remained undiagnosed.
Despite various medical interventions, including antibiotics and a pick line insertion, Kinsley’s condition deteriorated. She suffered from a hematoma caused by the pick line insertion, leading to severe bleeding. Kinsley was airlifted to another hospital, where she experienced cardiac arrest multiple times and was resuscitated three times. Tragically, she was declared brain dead shortly after.
Jayne Hiatt, a close friend of the family, has organized a fundraiser to support Samantha Byrd and Billy Hardy during this unimaginably difficult time. The fundraiser aims to raise $10,000 to help cover funeral expenses and provide some financial relief to the grieving family. As of today, $625 has been raised through ten donations, with contributions from Alyssa Byrd, Ashley McKnight, and others.
The community has expressed their condolences and support for Kinsley’s family. Shelby Kay Shuffitt wrote, "Please send some prayers to these sweet people." Samantha Byrd also shared her grief on Facebook, stating, "Kinsley Rose Hardy has passed into heaven with the angels; she will spread her wings forever now and watch over us from afar."
Kinsley’s family was unprepared for this tragic event, and they are struggling to cope with the loss. The fundraiser organized by Jayne Hiatt seeks to alleviate some of their financial burdens and honor the memory of Kinsley Rose Hardy. The community is encouraged to donate or share their story to help support the family during this heartbreaking time.
