The late Eric Ruggles from Hardwick, Massachusetts, was tragically killed in a UTV accident on May 27th. His unexpected death has left his family and friends in deep mourning. Eric did not have life insurance, and his passing has created significant financial burdens due to outstanding loans and the costs of funeral services.
Mandy Holmes, a lifetime friend of the Ruggles family, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support Eric’s family during this difficult time. "With Eric’s mom’s permission, I am starting this GoFundMe to help the family through this difficult time and to help alleviate some of the financial struggles a loss like this brings," Mandy explained. The fundraiser aims to raise $20,000, but so far, only $200 has been donated by two early supporters, Jacob Foley and Alyssa Holmes, who each contributed $100.
Mandy reminisces about her childhood filled with memories of Eric, who was her brother’s best friend. "Eric was a genuine guy and a very hard worker since a very young age!" she wrote. "Anyone who knew Eric was lucky—as he was a good friend to have!"
Eric’s mother, Debbie, has been a close friend of Mandy’s mother for many years. Mandy emphasized the deserving nature of the Ruggles family, highlighting their close-knit community ties. She urged people to donate or share the campaign, understanding that monetary contributions might be challenging for some but noting that even a share can significantly help.
The community is rallying around the fundraiser to support the Ruggles family in their time of need. Mandy Holmes’s heartfelt plea and the early donations reflect the collective effort to help a family struggling with the sudden loss of a beloved member.
