Kenna Kenzie Wilson, a beautiful, loving, and adventurous young woman, was taken from us too soon. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend to many. Kenna recently graduated from Martin County High School and had plans to attend Indian River State College this upcoming fall semester. Her passion for running on the high school track team helped her team beat the school’s personal record twice this past season. Known for her spirit and humor, Kenna lit up every room she entered.
Hailey Mathers, Kenna’s sister, is organizing a GoFundMe campaign to support their family during this tragic time. The fundraiser aims to raise $10,000 to cover medical expenses, celebration of life costs, and household bills while the family grieves. The funds will also be used to seek justice for Kenna’s case in the legal system. So far, $1,575 has been raised from 21 donations, with Marcela Noyes contributing $250 as the top donation.
On Facebook, many friends and family members have expressed their condolences and shared their grief. Hailey Mathers posted, "My beautiful baby sister. I love you so much." Autumn Beaty commented, "I’m so sorry Hailey," while Tia D Brewer-Connell wrote, "Hailey I’m sooooo sorry. I’m praying for y’all." The outpouring of love continued with Heather Meyer stating, "I am so sorry thinking of you and your family," and Tatiana Oteri adding, "I’m so sorry Hailey."
Other heartfelt messages included Whitley Cramer’s, "Sending my deepest condolences. So sorry for your loss Hailey," and Kelly Nubelo-Peyton’s, "I’m so very sorry for your loss Hailey. Keeping you in my thoughts." Sarah Davis, Cheyenne Ison Morrison, and Elisha Ison also shared their sorrow, with Elisha expressing, "Oh my gosh Hailey, I am so so sorry to hear this news. She was such a beautiful soul. I just can’t believe this. I love you."
The community is rallying around Hailey and her family, offering prayers and support during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be announced soon, where family and friends are encouraged to share letters of kind words or fond memories of Kenna. These letters will be a treasured gift for her family, offering solace and cherished memories amid their grief.
