Joseph (Joe) Jimenez, a beloved member of the Fallon community, peacefully passed away on May 25, 2024, at the age of 67. Known for his excellent woodworking skills, dedication to EMS, and devoted love for his family, Joe’s sudden departure has left his family and friends in deep sorrow.
Joe was born on June 17, 1956, in La Junta, Colorado, to Daniel and Esther Jimenez. Shortly after his birth, Joe and his family moved to Nevada, where they eventually settled in Fallon in 1965. Joe attended Churchill County High School, where he met and fell in love with Carol, who would become his wife on July 22, 1978. The couple had three beautiful children together.
Throughout his life, Joe was committed to serving his community. He worked for the City of Fallon for 18 years, retiring in May 2006. His passion for helping others extended beyond his job; he served as an EMS instructor at a local college, sharing his knowledge and experience with future generations. In his retirement, Joe enjoyed woodworking in his garage, substituting at Churchill County High School, and spending weekends with his cherished family.
Joe is survived by his wife, Carol Jimenez, and his children: daughter Yolanda Kaster, son Chris and his wife Mallory Jimenez, and daughter Jessica and her husband Fred White, all residing in Fallon, NV. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Ashlyn, Lyndsey, Hayden, Kinslyn, Gunner, and Mason, as well as his siblings Pamela, Patricia, and Rick, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Esther, and his brother Carlos.
To help ease the financial burden of Joe’s unexpected passing, his daughter-in-law, Mallory Jimenez, has organized a fundraiser on behalf of Carol Jimenez. The fundraiser has a goal of $11,000, with $270 raised so far from four generous donors. Contributions are being sought to cover the costs associated with Joe’s funeral and to support the family during this difficult time. Mallory expressed deep gratitude for any support, emphasizing the unexpected nature of the situation and the significant help any contribution would provide.
Joe Jimenez’s passing is a profound loss to his family and the Fallon community. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him, and his legacy of service and love will continue to inspire.
