The late Jordan Moorefield from Elkton, Kentucky, passed away this morning, leaving his family and friends in deep sorrow. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by Jennifer Hurtt to support his family in covering the funeral expenses. The fundraiser has so far raised $759 out of the $2,500 goal through 18 donations.
Jennifer Hurtt, who organized the fundraiser, stated, "We want to give Jordan the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of the funeral. We are trying to raise as much as we can in order to give him a proper goodbye. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers."
The community has shown their support, with donations ranging from $20 to $150. Emerald Forgette made the most recent donation of $29, while Dustin Groves contributed the largest amount of $150.
On Facebook, friends and family have expressed their condolences and shared their memories of Jordan. Susan Johnson, a family friend, posted, "An old friend of mine lost her son this morning. I remember this young man when he was a little boy. My heart breaks for their family. If you can find it in your heart to donate a little to help lay him to rest, I know the family would be so thankful." Shannon Lee Moorefield also commented, "I am so so sorry for your loss. No parent should ever have to go through this. I am praying for you and your family." Derick Moorefield added, "I’m sorry for your loss as well."
The outpouring of support underscores the impact Jordan had on those around him and the community’s desire to come together in this time of grief.
