The late Johnny Seven Goodwyn was from Dallas, Georgia. Johnny, a 23-year-old who fought a valiant battle against acute myeloid leukemia (AML), is the focus of a fundraising campaign organized by Paul Richman to cover his funeral expenses. Despite undergoing three chemotherapy treatments and a bone marrow transplant, the leukemia was not eradicated, and his doctors have indicated that his time is drawing near.
Johnny’s life has been filled with challenges beyond his medical condition. He has faced instability at home and has lived with various families throughout his life. During his treatment, he found a supportive home with the Richman family, where he was more than a friend—he became a son and brother.
Johnny attended Piedmont University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, majoring in musical theater. He was a passionate and talented actor, actively participating in theater since his high school years. Known for his kindness, honesty, and perpetual positivity, Johnny’s smile remained a constant, even in the face of adversity. His unwavering faith provided him with the strength to endure his struggles, and he believed that his journey would continue beyond this life.
The fundraiser, titled "Support Johnny’s Final Journey," aims to alleviate the financial burden on the Richman family during this difficult time. As of now, $270 has been raised out of the $15,000 goal, with donations from individuals like Joy McCammon, Nancy French, Stephanie Richman, and Betty Baskin. The campaign seeks contributions to ensure that Johnny receives the dignified farewell he deserves. For those unable to donate, the family asks for prayers and support.
Johnny’s inspiring life and the impact he had on those around him are evident in the love and generosity shown by the community. Any assistance provided will help ease the minds of Johnny and his loved ones as they navigate this painful chapter.
