John Kyttle, a beloved resident of Frederick, Maryland, tragically passed away on the evening of June 15, 2024. John, 66, suffered a massive heart attack while participating in the Annual Down Rider Fund Memory Run. He was in the midst of helping a fellow rider who had been in a major accident when he collapsed.
John was a cherished husband, father, son, brother, grandfather (affectionately known as "Pap"), and great-grandfather. He was deeply passionate about re-enactment, war history, motorcycle riding, and spending time with his friends and family outdoors.
His daughter-in-law, Christine Thompson, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of his funeral and celebration of life, as well as to support his widow during this difficult time. Christine writes, "My Father-in-Law unexpectedly passed away on the evening of June 15, 2024. John Kyttle’s Memorial and Family Support aims to alleviate any financial burden during this trying time and help with fees associated with Celebration of Life and Funeral Costs."
Cheyenne Thompson shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, saying, "My pap was amazing. He was a loving, caring, stubborn, funny, strong family man & would help anyone in need. I’m posting this GoFundMe in hopes to help with his funeral/celebration of life as well as expenses for my grandmother whose whole world has been flipped upside down. Any type of donation would help."
The community is rallying to support John’s family, but more help is needed. The GoFundMe campaign has a goal of $20,000 and seeks to provide much-needed relief during this time of loss.
John Kyttle’s legacy of kindness and strength lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his family is determined to honor his memory with the support of the community.
