The late Jeff Denhard, a beloved police officer from Gamaliel and Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on June 7th, 2024. Jeff served his communities for 28 years, touching countless lives with his dedication and compassion. He was especially known for his involvement in the "Shop with a Cop" program, which brought joy to children during the Christmas season.
Jeff’s sudden passing has left his partner, Kristen Whitlow, with numerous unexpected financial burdens. Kristen, who struggles with multiple chronic illnesses, relied heavily on Jeff’s support for basic living expenses. In addition to mourning his loss, she now faces the challenge of caring for their many cats and kittens, which Jeff dearly loved.
To help Kristen during this difficult time, Sydney Carney organized a fundraiser on GoFundMe. The campaign, titled "Support Officer Down Jeff Denhard," aims to raise $800 to alleviate some of Kristen’s financial stress. As of now, $110 has been raised from five donations, including contributions from Sydney Carney, Tice Graves, Erin Perry, Peggy Gittings, and an anonymous donor.
The community has rallied around Kristen and Jeff’s memory. On Facebook, My Roe urged friends and family to consider donating, stating, "Jeff Denhard was a friend to all. He loved our community and did so much for everyone in it." Kristen expressed her gratitude for the support, asking for continued prayers for her and her family.
Jeff Denhard was more than just a police officer; he was a pillar of his community, known for his humility, service, and protection. His loss is deeply felt, but his legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew him.
