Jacob Eshenbaugh was tragically lost at the age of 19 on May 23, 2024. The community and his family are mourning his unexpected passing. Jacob was deeply passionate about cars, dedicating much of his time to repairing, upgrading, and selling them. His twin brother, Kenyon, wishes to keep Jacob’s special car, purchased with a small loan and their mother as a co-signer, in his honor.
A GoFundMe campaign, organized by Rachel Ceballos, has been created to support the Eshenbaugh-Maxey family during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to raise $7,300 to help pay off and repair Jacob’s car for Kenyon and to contribute to funeral or memorial services for Jacob. Rachel, a long-time family friend through a transracial adoption group, shared her son Zach’s memories of Jacob: “Jacob always was the energy of the group, no matter when, where, or what he was smiling and doing something action-packed. He was always able to get all of us outside to go on some adventure or do something active. He was always supporting his friends in their goals and accomplishments.”
The community has shown immense support through donations and heartfelt messages. Lindsay Woltjer, one of Aidan’s best friends, shared on Facebook, "This is one of Aidan’s best friends. Please donate if you can to help his family. The sharp knife of a short life cuts so deep. RIP beautiful boy. We love you so much and will miss you incredibly. Hold your loved ones tighter. If you can’t donate please share! Thanks, Friends." Another friend, Terri Breault Yates, expressed condolences, saying, "Please tell Aidan we are so sorry for his loss."
This fundraiser not only reflects the collective effort to support the Eshenbaugh-Maxey family but also highlights the impact of Jacob’s life on those around him. The community’s contributions and messages of love and support demonstrate the strong bonds formed and the lasting legacy Jacob leaves behind.
