Erika Kelley, a beloved member of the Elkins community, passed away unexpectedly, leaving a profound impact on those who knew her. Erika was a devoted mother to her 3-year-old daughter, Aurora, and a cherished daughter, sister, and granddaughter. Her sudden death has left her family and friends in deep sorrow.
Erika was known for her vibrant personality and her dedication to her work at TZ Insurance. Autumn Mills, a colleague, expressed her grief on Facebook, saying, "Erika Kelley taught me a lot at my company. We bs’d and had ourselves too good of times, to be at work! Idk how to not cry for you! You were an absolute inspiration and shining star at TZ Insurance! Work just isn’t going to be the same without you. Our team will mourn you and pray for the solidity for your daughter and mom!"
The family is now rallying to provide a proper funeral and memorial service for Erika. Her sister, Alicia Kelley, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the expenses. As of today, $1,075 has been raised towards the $10,000 goal. Alicia describes Erika as "the best mother, caring sister, beloved daughter, niece, and granddaughter. She was a beacon of beauty both inside and out. She always made sure everyone was taken care of before she was."
Erika’s grandmother, Trina Kisner, also shared her heartbreak on Facebook, writing, "This is for my granddaughter. She left behind her 3-year-old daughter and a family that loves her very much. If you are unable to donate, we understand. Can you please share? Love you my girly girl."
Erika’s family, including her parents Edgar and Linda Kelley, and her siblings Adam, Alicia, and Andrew Kelley, are deeply affected by this loss. They are also joined in grief by her extended family, including her niece Matthew Kisner, and her aunts and uncles Gerald Doom, Brenda Ice, and Dave Ice.
The community is encouraged to support Erika’s family during this difficult time, whether through donations or by sharing the fundraiser. As the case is still under investigation, the family has not yet set a date for the funeral service. Every contribution helps to honor Erika’s memory and to provide for her daughter Aurora’s future.
