The late Elshadai Getnet from Cypress, Texas, passed away in a tragic accident. The community and his family are deeply affected by this loss, and efforts are underway to support them financially during this difficult time.
Ryan Warth, a close friend of Elshadai, has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Honoring Elshadai: Support His Family." As of now, $1,310 has been raised out of the $25,000 goal from 19 donations. Kim Parker made the top donation of $500, while Elizabeth Hankosky made the first donation of $50.
Ryan Warth described Elshadai as a remarkable individual: "This was a very solemn and tragic accident that happened to a young man who was a Son, Brother, and Friend to many. There’s not one person who could say anything negative about Elsh. He was a member of the Aggie fighting class of 2026 and planned to get his Mechanical Engineering Degree. He was a hard-working, charismatic, outgoing, funny young man."
Friends and community members have shared their condolences and memories on social media. Erika Solis Adamec wrote, "My thoughts and prayers go out to all that loved this amazing son and friend. Ryan Warth…This is a wonderful thing to do. Elsh and his family will forever be grateful for it. I know that when Mr. Adamec passed, friends and family poured their love into us."
Elshadai’s influence on those around him is evident. Ryan further emphasized his unique qualities: "He carried himself with respect and always brought a smile into any situation. He was driven and motivated in everything he was involved in from athletics, school, and with his friendships and family. There isn’t anyone else his friends could count on more when they needed something. He was the shining light in a dark room at all times and his absence has affected more people than anyone could imagine."
The fundraiser aims to alleviate the financial burden on the Getnet family and ensure they are well-supported. The community is encouraged to contribute in any way possible to honor Elshadai’s memory and assist his family in their time of need.
