The late Elias Woody was from Mariano Lake, New Mexico. The community and his family are overwhelmed as they prepare for his funeral and burial, seeking the proper service that Elias deserves. Sharon Bennett, Elias’s mother, expressed her gratitude on Facebook for the ongoing support and the necessity of setting up a GoFundMe page for her son.
Sharon Bennett announced that she would be going live tomorrow morning to request monetary donations. She mentioned that cash donations are also being accepted at her Grandma Maggie’s residence, at Rollies, and during the family gathering in Mariano Lake. Donations can be made through Cashapp, Zelle, PayPal, and Venmo.
"Thank you, everyone, for the continued support for my Sonny Elias," Sharon wrote. "I never thought we would be setting up a GoFundMe page for My Elias. Please help to make certain we have the proper service and burial My Sonny deserves. And of course, we do require a lot of prayers to help us through this very difficult time as we cope and make arrangements for Our Sonny. Thank you all again."
Timara Benally, who organized the fundraiser, also shared heartfelt words: "Dear friends and family, We’re devastated by the loss of our dearly beloved Elias Woody. To give him the farewell he deserves, we’re raising funds for funeral expenses. Your contribution, no matter how small, means the world to us. Thank you for your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time."
The GoFundMe campaign, officially approved by Sharon Bennett, aims to raise $4,000 for Elias Woody’s memorial fund. This effort highlights the family’s need for collective support during their time of grief.
Sharon Bennett’s post reflects the communal effort to honor Elias’s memory and underscores the emotional and financial struggles the family faces in the wake of their loss.
