The late Don Cheshire, from Houston, tragically lost his life on Tuesday, June 18th. He was involved in a head-on collision while returning from a doctor’s appointment with his wife, Martha. The accident not only took Don’s life but also left Martha in need of ongoing medical support.
Don was a devoted husband of 48 years and a father for 40 years. Known for his warmth, he could light up a room with his presence and loved engaging in good conversations, enjoying good food, and spending quality time with his family. He had a passion for fishing and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Prior to this devastating accident, the Cheshire family had already faced significant hardships due to severe storms that caused extensive damage to their home. Despite insurance covering part of the repairs, it was not enough to address all the damages. With the car only having liability coverage, the financial burden has increased, especially with the vehicle being totaled in the accident.
Ashly Hunt, a family friend, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to support the Cheshire family during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to raise $10,000 to help with Don’s funeral expenses and Martha’s medical care. The Cheshire home was known as a place of love and support for many over the years, and the community is now rallying to provide the same for them in their time of need.
The family is preparing to hold services for Don and will share details for those who wish to celebrate his life and memory. Donations and prayers are welcomed to support the Cheshire family through this tragic period.
