The late Deeasta Wright, known affectionately as Dee, was a beloved member of the Burleson community. Deeasta’s unexpected passing on May 11, 2024, has left her family and friends in deep mourning. Her cousin, Amanda Howard, has organized a fundraiser to assist with the costs of her cremation, as Deeasta did not have life insurance. The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $2,000.
Amanda shared the family’s plight on GoFundMe, expressing their need for financial support to cover the cremation expenses. "We appreciate your help as this is a hard time for everyone, and with Dee not having life insurance, the family is left to scramble to figure out how to raise the money so we can put her to rest," Amanda wrote. She also provided alternative ways for people to donate, including CashApp, Venmo, and Zelle.
Friends and family have taken to Facebook to express their condolences. Lana Lee posted, "Rest in Paradise Deeasta Wright / Swinney my step-mom / my little sisters mom." Other friends, such as Ryan Ritchson and Karluccie Valenz, offered their sympathies, with both commenting, "Sorry for your loss."
The community is rallying to support Deeasta’s family during this difficult time. Amanda Howard, deeply grateful for the support and prayers, continues to seek donations to reach the fundraising goal and give Deeasta the dignified farewell she deserves.
