On Sunday, we tragically lost Cameron Harris, a beloved member of the Blue Haven community. Cameron, aged 36, was known for his kindness and the joy he brought to everyone around him. His sudden passing has left his family and friends in deep mourning.
Cameron’s sister-in-law, Adam Godwin, shared his heartfelt tribute on Facebook, describing Cameron as a "legend" who was adored by many. "Cameron Harris was my sister’s soulmate, and was adored by many. He leaves behind four beautiful children, broken hearts, and buckets of tears," Adam wrote. He also called on the community to support Cameron’s family through this difficult time, whether through financial contributions or thoughts and prayers.
Jessica Harris, Cameron’s sister, has organized a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the family’s immediate expenses, including rent and funeral costs. The campaign, titled "Donate to assist the family of Cameron Harris," has raised $1,530 AUD of its $15,000 goal as of yesterday. The family faces significant financial challenges, including a weekly rent of $650 and a $3,000 deposit for the funeral.
In her GoFundMe post, Jessica expressed the family’s overwhelming grief and the financial burdens they now face. "Cam leaves behind four kids, including a 16-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy in Queensland, and two boys on the Central Coast, NSW, a 2-year-old and another who turns 1 this week. Cam’s partner and mum to these little boys must now look after her boys without Cam," she wrote.
The community has shown incredible support, with the top donation of $300 coming from Jaqueline Davern. As the family navigates this challenging time, they are deeply grateful for any support offered.
Adam Godwin’s message resonates with many who knew Cameron: "Raise your mead horns, Folks, for we were blessed to know him. If you can spare a little something… please help Cameron’s family through the battles that lie ahead of them. If you can’t contribute financially, please keep Cameron’s family in your thoughts or prayers."
Cameron Harris’s legacy of love and kindness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
