The late Benito Carrillo was born in Veracruz, Mexico, and later migrated to the United States, where he planted a significant seed in Hugoton, Kansas. He was a very enthusiastic person full of life, even in rough moments, always bringing delight to the room with his contagious laughter and perpetual smile. Benito’s positive influence through his friendship and work ethics endeared him to many, making his loss deeply felt by a large community.
His son, Beni Carrillo, is organizing a fundraiser to support Benito’s memorial. Describing his father as one of "Heavens Angels," Beni recalls the journey their family began in Hugoton and the many ups and downs they hurdled through together. Despite the challenges, Benito remained a beacon of joy and resilience.
The fundraiser aims to raise $20,000 to cover funeral costs abroad and celebrate Benito’s life and memories. The Carrillo family appreciates any donations and invites friends and family to share their comments, concerns, and memories to honor Benito’s legacy.
Benito will be dearly missed, and the community is encouraged to join in prayers for his early arrival in heaven and to support the Carrillo family during this difficult time.
