The late Axle Young, a beloved 17-year-old apprentice from Mittagong, passed away unexpectedly on 26th May 2024. The community is deeply saddened by his sudden death, and his family is struggling to cope with the loss.
On the afternoon of 26th May, emergency services were called to a home on Ethridge Street, Mittagong, after reports of a vehicle collapsing on a male. Axle was performing maintenance beneath the vehicle when it collapsed. Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, he tragically died at the scene. "We are so proud to have had him as part of our team," they wrote. "His patience, commitment, and beautiful nature always put a smile on everyone’s face here at Carpet Court. At the young age of 17, you showed us how determined and passionate you were about your career and future."

The campaign has raised $2,022 of its $5,000 goal so far. Donations are pouring in, with the highest contribution being $250 from Shane Jones. "Help raise money for Axle Young’s family," the page urges, aiming to provide a beautiful send-off for Axle.
