Zackery May, 21, of Paris, Maine, died Tuesday afternoon, May 5, 2026, after a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck on Elm Hill Road in Paris.
Paris Police Chief Michael Ward said the crash happened at about 12:15 p.m. as May traveled southbound on a motorcycle.
Investigators said May lost control before colliding with a northbound pickup truck, and emergency responders tried to provide aid at the scene.
Authorities confirmed May died at the scene, and they reported no additional people harmed immediately after the crash.
Police said early findings point to speed and rider inexperience as possible factors, while the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office continues a detailed crash reconstruction review.
The Windham Police Department and Norway Police Department also assisted during the emergency response and investigation.
Family members, friends, and the Paris community now mourn Zackery May, whose life ended far too soon.
