Shonda Rawlings-Henderson, 51, Of Dinwiddie, Virginia, Remembered After Fatal U.S. Route 50 Crash In Thornton, Taylor County

Shonda Rawlings-Henderson, 51, of Dinwiddie, Virginia, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, after a 2013 Peterbilt log truck overturned onto a 2019 Ford F-150 on U.S. Route 50 in the Thornton area of Taylor County, West Virginia.

According to West Virginia State Police, Robert Evans III, 22, of Eglon in Preston County, drove westbound around 9:30 a.m. when the trailer crossed the center line while navigating a right-hand curve near Sigmans Hollow Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, and authorities pronounced Rawlings-Henderson deceased there.

Investigators continue to review the crash reconstruction and related circumstances as officials work to determine what happened.

Family members have been notified, and details regarding memorial services and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.
