Robin Chesher Bonnema passed away suddenly on March 27th, leaving family, friends, and the wider community in deep mourning. Known for her boundless courage, grace, and creative brilliance, Robin devoted her life to nurturing those around her and supporting the dreams of her loved ones.
Robin, widow of William (Bill) Bonnema, was a devoted mother to Rachel and Brad, and a cherished grandmother to Piper, Olive, Eden, and Ezra. Known affectionately by her grandchildren as “Birdie,” she ensured their well-being through faith-based education and contributions toward their future college tuitions.
In her later years, Robin prioritized family over career, caring for her aging mother while providing for her children’s ambitions and funding her daughter’s ongoing medical needs. Friends and family remember her as a connector of countless souls around the world, whose generosity and warmth touched everyone she met.
Christine Collins, who organized a fundraiser to support Robin’s memorial and her family, shared, "Robin was a force of nature and a light in all our lives. Her legacy will continue through her children and grandchildren."
The family plans to announce details of Robin’s memorial services soon. In the meantime, her life and spirit are being celebrated by all who knew her, as they remember her kindness, creativity, and enduring love for her family.
