Nicanor Romero Remembered As Family Seeks Support To Bring Nicanor Home To Mexico After Passing In The United States
Nicanor Romero passed away in the United States after more than a month in the hospital with fast-moving terminal cancer, according to a fundraiser created on May 11, 2026.
Nayeli Arizaga organized the fundraiser, titled “Help Bring Nicanor Home,” to help the Romero family return Nicanor to Mexico for a dignified farewell near loved ones.
The campaign had raised $2,100 toward a $4.5K goal through 22 donations at the time of the post.
Family members shared that Nicanor spent final days far from a spouse and children in Mexico, and they described the loss as deeply painful for everyone who knew Nicanor.
The funds will support transportation to Mexico and memorial expenses as the family prepares to honor Nicanor’s memory at home.
