Na’Quail Weaver, a 28-year-old Baton Rouge resident, died after suffering critical injuries during an afternoon incident on May 14, 2026, at The Athlete’s Foot along Florida Boulevard near North Foster Drive.
Baton Rouge officers arrived around 3:07 p.m. after emergency reports from the store, and medical crews transported Weaver to a local hospital.
Loved ones waited for days as doctors provided care, and the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office later confirmed Weaver’s death.
Authorities said 26-year-old Deandre Selmon turned himself in over the weekend with an attorney present, and investigators continued reviewing the case after Weaver died.
