James David Petrea, a loving father, husband, and son, passed away on March 25, 2026, at the age of 35, in Mooresville, North Carolina. James was known for his warmth, kindness, and the deep love he shared with his family and friends.
His unexpected passing has left a void in the hearts of many. "James David touched so many lives, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him," wrote a close family friend on social media.
James is survived by his devoted wife, Kristina Keating Petrea, their children Harlan Maks Petrea and Salem Jade Petrea, and his loving mother, Teresa Sawyer Miller. He was also cherished by his father, Paul Miller, and his siblings, Brittany Starnes, Zachary Petrea, and Matthew Petrea. He was predeceased by his son, Chevy James Petrea, and his mother-in-law, Susan Keating.
A visitation for friends and family will be held on March 30, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis, NC. The funeral service will take place on March 31, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Charity Baptist in Kannapolis.
