Dylan Bundy Gray, Courageous Good Samaritan and Devoted Father of Four, Fatally Shot While Protecting a Young Woman in North Spokane, WA

Dylan Bundy Gray tragically lost his life on March 22, 2026, while intervening to protect a young woman from harassment in North Spokane, leaving his family and community heartbroken.

The 44-year-old father of four acted heroically when he saw two teenagers chasing a girl along East Wellesley Avenue and stepped in to stop them from causing harm.

During the altercation, one of the teens, 16-year-old Onyx Deligt, fired multiple shots, fatally wounding Dylan, while the second teenager sustained a hand injury.

Dylan’s wife, now the sole parent of their school-aged children, expressed the family’s grief in court, saying, "We are devastated, and these words do not do justice to our pain and grief."

His brother Ian shared on social media the bravery Dylan displayed in his final moments: "He stepped in and began fighting to save her. My brother was an amateur boxer, but the best hands are no match for a coward with a gun."

The Spokane Police Department utilized surveillance footage to track the suspect, and Deligt is now facing second-degree murder and first-degree assault charges, with a bond set at $1 million.

Friends, family, and the wider community continue to mourn Dylan’s loss, celebrating his courage, kindness, and dedication as a father. Details regarding memorial services and funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in the coming days.
