Eugene Walls, 40, died after an incident on Wednesday night in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Cincinnati officers responded around 9:18 p.m. to the 2400 block of May Street, near Morgan Street, after reports of an emergency in the area.

First responders found Eugene with a chest wound and transported them to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Medical personnel tried to save Eugene, but officials later confirmed that Eugene did not survive.

By Thursday morning, the Cincinnati Police Department had confirmed Eugene’s identity and shared the loss with a community already grieving.
