Cesar Albarracin Guncay Remembered By Sag Harbor Community After Fatal Rafting Accident In The Poconos On May 27
Cesar Albarracin Guncay, a beloved 6th grader from the Sag Harbor community, died in a rafting accident in the Poconos on May 27, 2026.
Cesar was remembered as kind, athletic, a friend to many, and a cherished neighborhood child whose classmates, teachers, school families, and neighbors will deeply miss the student’s presence.
Huw Davies organized a GoFundMe on May 28, 2026, on behalf of the Sag Harbor community to support Cesar’s family with funeral costs and urgent living expenses.
The fundraiser listed $30,935 raised toward a $40,000 goal through 72 donations.
The Sag Harbor community and the east end of Long Island shared condolences with Cesar’s family and remembered Cesar with affection during this difficult time.
