Adam J. Keyes, UMass Chan Medical School Educational Affairs Director, Remembered After Sudden Passing On May 25, 2026

The Worcester higher education community mourns Adam J. Keyes, a respected UMass Chan Medical School administrator who reportedly passed in their sleep over the weekend.

Keyes joined UMass Chan in December 2024 as director of educational affairs, where they helped guide financial aid, student life, and registrar services.

Before that role, Keyes served as vice president for student success and campus life at Dean College and held leadership positions at Clark University, Boston University, MIT, and other institutions.

Colleagues, students, and friends remembered Keyes for kindness, steady leadership, and a deep commitment to helping students feel supported during important moments in campus life.

Keyes lived in Auburn, Massachusetts, with family and is survived by a wife and two children.
