The late William Ross Henderson, a resident of Fort Meade, Maryland, took his final breaths on May 26th, surrounded by his loved ones. Ross was a man of radical optimism and kindness, known for his ability to make anyone smile with his words and jokes. His dedication to the United States Navy, as well as his roles as a friend, son, brother, cousin, and uncle, were commendable. Most importantly, Ross was a devoted husband to his wife Jordan and an incredible father to their 2-year-old son Barrett.
In Ross’s final days, he expressed his concern for his family’s future, particularly their financial stability. Kathryn Weaver, a close family friend, promised Ross that she would ensure his wishes were fulfilled by setting up a GoFundMe campaign for Jordan and Barrett. She has also organized a meal train to provide warm meals for Jordan and Barrett for at least the next two months, ensuring they have one less thing to worry about during this difficult time.
Kathryn Weaver shared her experience and Ross’s wishes on Facebook, urging the community to support the family. "In my dear friend, Ross’ final days, I sat at his bedside as he talked about his final wishes. One of them was making sure Jordan and their son Barrett were going to be taken care of after his passing. In light of William Ross Henderson and his final wishes, please take a moment to share this and if you can, donate," she wrote. The GoFundMe campaign has raised $205 so far, with contributions from individuals like Delma and Danny Escobar, Alonzo Escobar, Kathleen Burke, and Bonnie Felingiere, who also emphasized the importance of community support, saying, "If anyone can help, please do so."
Despite the overwhelming grief, the community has come together to honor Ross’s memory and support his family. This fundraising effort is not just about financial aid but also a testament to the love and respect people had for Ross and their willingness to ensure his final wishes are fulfilled.
